Richard P. May, Managing Director

Richard P. May is a business leader with an extraordinary history of success.  As the Managing Director, Richard oversees the operations of ElectroGuard, which manufactures and distributes boating supplies throughout the world. With a degree from Harvard Business School and an MBA from the University of Hawaii – Magna Cum Laude – under his belt, Richard has made an indelible mark in the business world.

Prior to ElectroGuard, Richard was the principal for Corporate Finance Associates in Newport Beach, CA, where he negotiated deals worth tens of millions of dollars. Prior to his work at Corporate Finance Associates, Richard put his engineering education to good use, while serving as the CEO for Data Capture Systems in Newport Beach, CA. In this capacity, he not only designed and developed a complex commercial software application, he then also successfully installed systems in the mainland United States, Hawaii, Guam and Hong Kong.

Chris Treese, President

Chris Treese, the President, holds a unique position within ElectroGuard: his pedigree. Chris’ own grandfather founded the company in 1940. Thomas Wilde, a mechanical engineer who completed his post-graduate work at Cal Tech, began his career in the zinc mines. Thomas was a visionary and soon realized there was a strong need for the sacrificial zinc anode. He became the first in the United States to manufacture the zinc anode and put it on the market.

But the family business didn’t end with Thomas Wilde. Thomas’ daughter, Diana Wilde, grew up in the business and eventually ran the company with her husband, Bob Treese. The couple continued to build on ElectroGuard’s success, taking the company to new, international heights. Today, Diana’s and Bob’s son, Chris Treese, has taken the reigns of ElectroGuard and continues the legacy in his family’s honor.
